KDB is a world class singer with knowledge and experience in ALL types of styles: Classical, Golden Age, Broadway, Rock, Pop, etc. She is a well-trained legit soprano & belter, and sings everything in between. Trained in piano as well, KDB has an excellent ear for music, knowledge of music theory, and knows what makes music soar. Lesson revolves around breath, placement, phrasing, vowel technique, emotional connection, and visualization. You will sing your best, and you will sing with celebratory safety.
The story is everything. KDB is well trained in many different styles and types of acting. She holds two performance degrees from incredible acting programs, and FIRMLY believes that acting is the root of all performance. If we don't tell the story, we have nothing. Clients can coach scenes, monologues, songs, sides, TV/Film auditions, and everything in between. Lessons revolve around the character objective, believability, body, breath, voice, and firmly communicating the story.

Here we can unite and become the musical theatre superheros that we are. Lessons revolve around the story, coaching the voice, the acting, musical theatre history and show structure, and uniting them in a perfect synthesis. Clients can coach sides, cuts, and any repertoire they wish.

MEET YOUR TEACHER
Kimberly Doreen Burns is a true New Yorker with 20 years of professional performing experience. She strives to share and cultivate the love for music, acting, and performance. With an MFA in Musical Theatre from San Diego State University and a BFA in Musical Theatre from Ithaca College, KDB has an excellent ear for music, knowledge of music theory, and the ability to empower students to find what makes their music, performances, and auditions soar.
She has lived the life of a true theatre actor, performing 8 shows a week in leading roles, and has experienced every audition or casting situation under the sun. Having this first-hand knowledge allows KDB to DO and TEACH simultaneously. Because of this, KDB clients have booked and worked on Broadway, National Tours, leading Regional Theatres around the country, international concerts, Disney, Cruise ships, Theme parks, and the like. Kimberly is a member of Actors Equity, NATS, MTEA, and NYSTA, and working towards more certifications in the future.
