a little bit about...
Kimberly is a New York City based award-winning singer, actor, performer, and educator who recently originated the role of Maya in the New York City premiere of Sideways (based on the Academy Award Winning film). Top theatre critics have dubbed her a "golden-voiced vocalist," "a luminous life-force with a crystalline soprano voice," and "one of the best voices I've heard in musical theatre." Kimberly has had the privilege to perform at Lincoln Center, Town Hall, Signature Theatre, Irish Repertory Theatre, and the Lucille Lortel Theatre alongside Rebecca Luker, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Michael Cerveris, Nathan Gunn, Donna Kane, Melissa Errico, Melissa Gilbert, Aaron Tveit, and Jeremy Jordan. She also sang at the Irish Repertory Theatre’s 30th Anniversary Gala honoring former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton and was a soloist at the Sondheim at Seven Gala honoring the legendary composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheim.
Outside of New York City, Kimberly has performed in National Tours, Internationally in Japan and Taiwan with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and Evergreen Symphony Orchestra, worked for Disney as a lead singer, and has been fortunate enough to play some of the musical theatre’s most celebrated leading roles at the nation’s leading regional theatre's to critical acclaim. Some of her favorite credits include the Irish Rep’s revival production of Finian’s Rainbow (Outer Critics Circle Nomination), Mother in Ragtime, Our Town (directed by Hunter Foster) Dot in Sunday in the Park with George (Carbonell Award), Beggar Woman/Pirelli in Sweeney Todd (Carbonell Award), Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady-four times (Broadway World Award), Guenevere in Camelot, Georgie in The Full Monty, Nellie Forbush in South Pacific, Cathy in The Last 5 Years, and Millie in Thoroughly Modern Millie (S.A.L.T. Award). Other various career highlights include performing as Sandy in the National Tour of Grease starring Frankie Avalon, recording the first-ever English version of “Sparkle” from Disney’s Magic Castle (which can be heard on Disney Records), and touring 40 cities across Japan and Taiwan in the Disney concert Disney On Classic.
Kimberly is originally from Brigantine, NJ and earned her BFA in Musical Theatre from Ithaca College and her MFA in Musical Theatre from San Diego State University. She is also trained in piano and music theory and runs her own private voice, acing, and musical theatre studio: KDB Studio. She teaches private lessons both virtually online and in New York City.
